Amman-Jordan, May-9-2023 Sama Telecom Company, in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment and the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), implemented a digital system for tracking medical and hazardous waste transport vehicles, licensed to companies for this purpose. This project is the first of its kind in the Kingdom, as the vehicles were equipped with weight sensors and tempreture sensors to control and monitor the change in the weights of the load and the change in temperature during the journey of transporting waste to ensure the safety of its transportation and to confirm discharging in the places designated for it.

The General Manager of Sama Telecom, Eng. Saddam Samawi, explained that: “this project comes within the framework of the company’s commitment to providing the best services and technological solutions to serve the Jordanian society”, indicating the company’s readiness to develop this field continuously. The Director of Business Development and Partnerships at Sama Telecom Company, Mr. Motaz Maani, stated that: “this project is one of the important projects that must be highlighted due to its importance in preserving the infrastructure during crises.

It is worth mentioning that this project is funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) project. One of their goals is to support, develop and solve environmental problems and obstacles that threaten this field, by applying and employing the latest technologies.
