Monitoring Landfills in the Aqaba Landfill

Monitoring Landfills in the Aqaba Landfill

In collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), implemented a unique project for the first time in the region to monitor landfills in the Aqaba landfill for local solid waste, through an automated monitoring system using infrared thermal cameras to prevent fires in the open air.

The system that was applied in the project is characterized by its ability to continuously scan the landfill areas and sense the hottest spots, issue the necessary alerts in anticipation of the outbreak of any fire, and deal with it appropriately before it occurs, through an infrared system equipped with an alarm, sensor, and firefighting system, in addition to high-quality surveillance cameras.
